Ow, it hurts...

And no, I'm not in labour.

In addition to the crazy menstrual-like crampiness, I've now got crazy pressure going on "down there"... (TMI coming up) I keep going to the bathroom, sitting there, and then realizing after ten minutes that I already pooped plenty today, this is just pressure. And it is. And it's killing me. Ow.

So... do I haul out "ye olde breast pumpe" and see if I can stir up some contractions that way? I'd feel so... hypocritical. Up until a couple of weeks ago, my attitude was, "the baby will be born when it's ready, and it's just wrong to try to force a natural process." Now that I'm here, at 40 weeks exactly, and not just uncomfortable but in actual pain, I'm feeling almost ready to give in to the selfish impulse to "self-induce".

That's all... just a whine. Have a great day, everyone.

I'm sorry. This part sucks. I wanted nature to take its course but I was so anxious to meet the little one too!! I walked, a lot. Not sure if it helped anything progress but it made me feel better.

My assvice - find what feels good and do that. Walking or laying or sit on a ball or watch a distracting movie or read or shower or whatever feels good...Good luck!!!

I've never been in labor before....but isnt pressure down there a really good sign? A sign that the baby is going into the birth canal! I bet you have that baby in the next 24 hours!

My first thought is, "prodromal," but then I'm a bit of L&D geek. I wouldn't necessarily put any money on it, but it would be cool if tomorrow or the next day, I proved to be right!

p.s. I just looked up prodromal (l&d geek!) and please do not believe ANY of the sites that equate it with FALSE labour. Any competent mw will tell you that in prodromal labour, your body is "gettin' the job done." It is essential work and it is HARD work - not FALSE anything. :-o
(can you tell I was there, did that, walked the halls of Yorkdale etc, for 3 days before GZ was born?)
