pop quiz

I can't remember the last time I didn't have a tiny person attached to my boob. Is this because:

a) she has actually been attached to my boob for 18 out of the last 24 hours (I don't exaggerate)

b) the sleep deprivation has gotten to me, and I just can't remember anything, OR

c) both a and b?

OK, now... pencils down. Share your answers with the class, and don't forget to show your work.

Oy. My mother experienced the same thing when my brother was born. To make matters worse...he cut his first two teeth at 8 weeks old!!! She took him to the doctor, who strongly advised her NOT to switch to pablum, even though she complained that she's stopped wearing bras altogether because "there's just no point!". The doctor encouraged her to continue breastfeeding (inspite of the fact that the baby was teething on her nipple...), and just weather this storm.
She couldn't do it in the end and moved him to pablum. She doesn't recommend it, though!
I know this is totally not helpful to you...sorry! I just thought I'd share her experience...

Oh crumbs, well, it will get better very very soon, if it's any comfort. Yeah, I know, not much.

Is she in your bed? It helps you to sleep sometimes. My only other suggestion is baby anbesol, not for the baby, but for your nipples. It has lidocaine, so the sting might be reduced.
