Just so you know...

No, I can't install quarter-round.

I can cut it to the right length and miter it so the corners join up nicely. But when it comes to putting hammer to nail, Mr. December and I could only make a mess. Countless bent nails later, we've decided to give up and hire someone to do it. Foiled again.

But hey, at least we've bought a couch for the basement rec room - and a matching slipcover for one of our old armchairs. Have I mentioned that I love the popular Swedish furniture chain?

Hi. Completely random topic to leave my first comment on, but I've found that an automatic nailer (air power tool) is the only way to go for quarter-round. You can rent them at the big HD, but keep in mind they're dangerous. Probably easier to hire someone. And anyone you hire to install it is gonna use one. Good luck!

Another random commenter- just to let you know, I'm the handy-person in my house as well, and I can baaaaaarely install quarter-round myself. I found that using the composite wood-plastic stuff and drilling the holes for the nails works wonders. It works especially well for our old house where the walls aren't always flat...
I found you from the stirrup queens blogroll. Congrats on the pregnancy!
